I HAVE WONDERED about the heightened energy and awareness that I experience when adventuring over land and sea. It feels like a muscle that I don’t use until I’m exposed. And the muscle grows stronger, the longer I’m out there, no matter the challenges of terrain or weather.

When I return to the “safety” of level floors within the sedate indoors, I long for the wild, the unpredictable, the resurgence of a state-of-being, when I realized my egoless place in the universe, and possessed the wherewithal, the muscle, to explore its beauty even in the midst of chaos.
